In June of this year, we were asked to make a donation for a charity dinner being held by RAF Lossiemouth. after many discussions we sent a few items including a whisky barrel lid that had been engraved an amongst other items.

The following is taken from the thank you email received.

Please accept my apologies as thank you emails went out a few weeks ago, however for some reason it was not received by you. As such, on behalf of Group Captain Peter Beckett, Wing Commander Dougie Potter and the Lossiemouth Development Team (LDP), I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your team for the kind donations for the LDP Charity Dinner held in the Mansfield Hotel Elgin on Thursday 27 Jun 24.

The aim of the evening was to celebrate the success of LDP and, more importantly, raise funds for both the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund | Leading welfare charity (rafbf.org) and local children’s charity Abbie’s Sparkle Foundation – supporting children with cancer across the UK (abbiessparklefoundation.org). This aim was successfully achieved, helped not only by the support from all those involved with LDP but also by the various donat

ion that had been offered for the event such as yours. Our special guest and Scottish comedian, Fred MacAulay helped to carry the laughter and high spirits into the late evening and spur on the generous bids on both our silent and ‘live’ auctions.

We are still totalling up the final amounts raised on the night, however what we do know is that both the silent and ‘live’ auctions were able to raise a combined total of £5600 and the overall amount of money raised for the charities is currently looking at being more than £12k. This will undoubtably help to support the fantastic work carried out by both charities and would not have been possible without your support. Having personally handed over your donations to the highest bidder on the night, I can confirm that they were very happy with their win and were very impressed with the craftsmanship.

Kind regards

Shaun
