Successful Families Day at RAF Leeming

I am writing to you on behalf of the Station Commander, Group Captain Paul Hamilton to sincerely thank you for your support to the RAF Leeming Show 2024 held on 25 Jul. The Leeming Show is an integral event within our local community, drawing together military personnel, their families, and civilians alike and this year’s event was a roaring success.

Not only were we able to expand the scope of the event, moving away from the sport pitches and back onto the airfield but were able to leverage far greater support for our air and static displays. We saw over 4,000 visitors pass through the gates – a scale we never imagined for a Stn-level event. Your contribution was integral to its success, and I know the whole team are incredibly grateful for all you offered. It’s never easy delivering the Leeming Show and additional complexity of the airfield, aircraft and flying displays made for a challenging few days; your flexibility and pragmatism were graciously received.

We’ve already conducted our review of the event and earmarked ways to make not only grow but give a better experience for visitors and vendors alike. That said, your feedback is more than welcome so please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the undersigned.

We would like to extent an invite to you for next year’s Show which will follow a similar blueprint as this year. Flt Lt Andy Mawdsley will be heading the team, and I know many of you have already touched base with him.
